1 cup rye berries
parchment paper
1 ¼ cups whole wheat flour
½ cup rye flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
½ cup butter
½ cup soy milk
¼ cup molasses

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Pour rye berries into a shallow baking dish.

Add ground rye berries. Stir soy milk and molasses into flour mixture until combined; divide in half. Arrange dough on prepared baking dish and flatten each piece to a 1/2-inch thick circle.

I'm going to try making these scones again, but I think I'll make a few changes to the recipe.

Overall, I thought these scones were just okay. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything special either.

I would have liked the scones to be a bit sweeter.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my scones didn't turn out as well as I hoped. They were a bit dense and crumbly.

These scones were a bit too dry for my taste.

I'm not usually a fan of scones, but these were really good! The rye flour gave them a nice nutty flavor.
