I found this recipe in an old cookbook that I had purchased in Peterman Alabama at the annual Peterman Station festival that is held every year. Number Of Ingredients 7

4-5 applies (tart)
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c flour (i used self-rising)
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp vanilla
cinnamon and nutmeg

Steps:

  • 1. Slice apples and fill pan/dish.
  • 2. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup white sugar. Sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon (use your judgement) over the sugar and apples.
  • 3. Mix together flour, brown sugar, butter. The vanilla is optional. Spread paste over top and cover as many apples as you can. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
