Crock Pot Pork Ribs image

Delicious fall-off-the-bone pork ribs....sooo good! While the original recipe calls for country-style boneless ribs, I've used pork spare ribs purchased at the butcher counter of the grocery store.

Categories     Pork

Time 8h15m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 -3 lbs pork ribs
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 large white onion, quartered and sliced thin
2/3 cup soy sauce
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
6 tablespoons brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, minced
black pepper
1/4 cup malt vinegar

Steps:

  • Butcher ribs into individual pieces and trim excess fat.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet or pan; brown ribs evenly on all sides, starting bone-side down.
  • Transfer ribs to the crock pot and keep covered in between batches.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients and whisk.
  • Cover the ribs with the onion and sauce; turn to coat.
  • Cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours.

These ribs are a game changer! I've never had ribs so tender and flavorful. The sauce is also amazing. I will definitely be making these again and again.

I would not recommend this recipe. The ribs were tough and the sauce was too spicy.

These ribs were a disappointment. The meat was dry and the sauce was too sweet.

These ribs were ok, but I've had better. The meat was a little tough and the sauce was a little bland.

The ribs were a little dry, but the sauce was delicious. I would recommend using more liquid in the crock pot next time.
