Crock Pot Green Beans & Ham image

I came up with this recipe when I had an abundance of fresh green beans. After canning 30 quarts, I knew I needed to find something else to do with all those beans! It's easy to prepare and one of my family's "comfort food" favorites. NOTE: not every crockpot cooks the same. My Rival crock pot is 20 years old and on the "high" setting food actually comes to a low boil. If your crock pot does not get that hot, then you will need to adjust for a longer cooking time.

This recipe is a good starting point, but I would make some changes next time. I would add some more vegetables, like carrots or celery.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my green beans turned out really tough. Maybe I should have cooked them for longer.

I followed the recipe exactly and my green beans turned out mushy. I think I would cook them for less time next time.

This recipe is a bit bland for my taste. I would add some more spices or herbs next time.

I've made this recipe with different types of beans and they've all turned out great. I think this recipe would also be good with chicken or turkey.

I'm not a big fan of green beans, but this recipe changed my mind. The ham and the brown sugar give them a really nice flavor.
