Number Of Ingredients 17

1 c suger
1/2 c margarine
4 large eggs beaten
1 c ap flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1-16 oz. can(s) chcolate sryup
CAKE PART
1-12oz. bag(s) semi sweet chocolate chips
MINT LAYER
2 c powered suger
1/2 c margarine
4 Tbsp creme de menth liquore
3-4 medium drops green food coloring
GLAZE
1-12 oz. bag(s) semi-sweet chocolate chips
6 Tbsp margarine

Steps:

  • 1. the 1st 8 ingredients are usedforbthe cake layer[i had never added a heading before, and did it too late to hsve it appear at top of ingredient list[you should strive to learn something new evevery day & I did today.]. Grease & flour a 9x13 baking dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place all thecake ingredients in a large bowl. On a low speed, mix until thoroughly combined. Add 1 bagof chocolate chips and stir into batter. Pour batter into prepsred baking dish. Place dish in preheated oven and biake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside. to cool for at least 20 minutes
  • 2. Mint Layer Cream powered sugerand margarine together. Add creme de menth and food coloring[to create a deeper green color gto the mint layer. Mix as making icing. When thoroughly mixed together, spread over the cake layer. set aside.
  • 3. Glaze: In small sauce pan over low heat, melt remaining bag of chocolate chips and margarine. Cool slightly and pour over mint layer. Spread evenly over entire mint surface. set aside to cool further. Before chocolate glaze is totally hard, cut into squaresleaving the squares in the baking dish Cover dish with plastic wrap and place into fridge to chill. it is best to keep the squares in the fridge on a plastic wrap-covered plate, removing just prior to serving.Enjoy. this is another of the sort of dessert/snack that is difficult to only eat one and save the rest for later. You'll want to eat plate after plate of them. If you are like me[very fond of mint and chocolate], you'll be tempted to eat the entire batch in one sitting. Please leave a comment telling me how long you made them last.

I was a little hesitant to try these because I'm not a big fan of mint, but I'm so glad I did! The mint flavor is subtle and perfectly complements the chocolate.
