CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING image

This Is the recipe I used to frost MICHELLE'S FAVORITE CHOCOLATE MAYONNAISE CAKE. My husband requested that I make the cake but use a Peanut Butter Frosting. I basically used my Cream Cheese Frosting recipe but omitted the Cream Cheese to allow the flavors from the Peanut Butter to come through. He truly loved the cake. I have...

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb powderd sugar or confectioners sugar
1 c creamy or chunky peanut butter(i used creamypeter pan)
1 stick butter softened (1/2 cup)
2 tsp vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste
1 tsp coffee extract
4-6 Tbsp milk (i used evaporated milk) or more to reach desired spreading consistency
10-12 pieces of candy as desired, optional i used kit kat & reese's peanut butter cups

Steps:

  • 1. These are the main ingredients to make the frosting.
  • 2. Add the softened butter and peanut butter to a medium size bowl and beat together until creamy and smooth.
  • 3. Then add in the vanilla, coffee extract, & powdered sugar. Using slow speed at first slowly lend the powdered sugar into the creamy mixture.
  • 4. Add the milk a tablespoon or 2 at a time until it reaches the desired consistency you need to frost the cake or cup Cakes.
  • 5. When desired consistency is reached frost cake or cup cakes with an off set spatula as desired. Garnish top with assorted candies or sprinkles if desired.
  • 6. Cut and enjoy. I made my daughter Michelle's Favorite Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake with this delicious frosting, but it is also great on cupcakes too.
