1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 yellow onion, diced
2 teaspoons dried dill weed
½ cup water
2 tablespoons water
½ cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons heavy cream
½ lemon, juiced
14 ounces cod, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
4 ounces peeled and deveined small shrimp

  • Melt butter in a pot over medium heat; stir in onion. Cook and stir until the onion has softened and turned translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in dill and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add water, cream, and lemon juice; bring to a simmer. Add cod and cook until fish flakes easily with a fork, 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Stir in tomato soup until dissolved. Add shrimp and cook until bright pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, 2 to 5 minutes.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my soup turned out really fishy. I think I might have used too much fish.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my soup turned out bland and watery. I'm not sure what went wrong.

This is the best fish soup I've ever had. The broth is so flavorful and rich, and the fish is cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this recipe.

I'm not a huge fan of fish, but this soup was surprisingly good. The creamy tomato base really mellowed out the fishiness of the salmon. I'd definitely make this again.

Meh.

Not bad, but not great either. The soup was a bit too tangy for my taste, and the fish was a little overcooked. I think I'll try a different recipe next time.

This fish and tomato soup is a total winner! It's creamy, flavorful, and so easy to make. I love that it's a one-pot meal, so cleanup is a breeze. Definitely adding this to my regular soup rotation.
