This is an old recipe from Mrs. Johnson's recipes. She had quite a collection of good heirlooms. These are easy to make as you roll them into balls and they spread as they cook. The make a crisp crackly top that tastes great.

Steps:
- 1. Cream sugar, butter, and shortening. Add egg yolks and cream some more.
- 2. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Then add flavoring.
- 3. Roll into uniform small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- 4. Bake 20 minutes at 300 degrees. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
