Growing up in Texas we had a lot of "beans and taters" and my mama would make this with the leftovers. She called it Bean Ghoulash, originally made with leftover pinto beans, tomatoes and seasonings with meat. This is a much quicker method. Some people call it chili but it is different. I love it and every member of my family...

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my cowboy beans turned out really bland. I followed the recipe exactly, but they just didn't have much flavor.

These cowboy beans were a bit too spicy for my taste, but other than that they were really good. I loved the combination of beans, bacon, and sausage. I will definitely be making these again, but I'll use less chili powder next time.

These cowboy beans were just okay. The beans were a little mushy for my taste and the sauce was a bit bland. I think I would have liked them more if I had added some more spices.
