"Sage is my favorite seasoning, so I'm always pleased to fix and serve these rugged golden loaves," relates field editor Geraldine Grisdale of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. "They're crusty on the outside and chewy inside."

I'm not a huge fan of sage, but I thought I'd give this recipe a try anyway. I'm glad I did! The sage is very subtle and it doesn't overpower the other flavors in the bread.

I was a bit skeptical about the sage, but it really adds a nice savory flavor to the bread. I'll definitely be making these again.
