Copy Cat Olive Garden Fontina Cheese Sauce image

I enjoy this at Olive Garden on occassion, found this on copy cat recipes through Mr. Food. Thought I would share it here.

Categories     Pasta

Number Of Ingredients 7

6 Tbsp butter
6 Tbsp flour
3 c milk
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt or powder
6 oz grated fontina cheese

Steps:

  • 1. In a saute pot whisk flour into melted butter. Pour milk continuously stirring. Add Cajun seasoning, pepper, garlic salt/powder. Add cheese and melt. Keep stirring! This sauce thickens up quick so feel free to add a bit more milk to thin it out a little.
  • 2. Serve this over penne pasta with peas topped with blackened chicken or any other pasta/veggies and meat.
  • 3. Enjoy!

I'm not a big fan of cheese sauces, but this one is actually really good. It's not too heavy or greasy.

This sauce is a bit too cheesy for my taste, but it's still good. I might try using a different type of cheese next time.
