This recipe is mixed on top the stove, all in one pan and baked. I try to cut down on the amount of sugar in most of my recipes so for this one: I use 2 cups of brown sugar, the recipe calls for 2 1/4 cups. I also decrease the flour by 2 tablespoons and salt by 1/4 teaspoon.

Steps:
- 1. Combine flour, baking powder and salt, set aside.
- 2. Melt shortening, stir in brown sugar. Cool slightly.
- 3. Add dry ingredients gradually with eggs.
- 4. Stir in rest of ingredients.
- 5. Put into a greased and floured 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
