Cold Oven Pound Cake image

This recipe came to me as a Very Young Bride, 43 yrs. ago from my Mother-in-law. It is so easy and always a crowd pleaser. My kids and grand-kids always want this when they come, so guess what,Cold Oven Pound Cake. Really good with Fresh Strawberries and Redi-whip.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 c = 2 sticks margarine
2 c sugar
2 c sifted sr flour
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp almond extract

Steps:

  • 1. Put flour in your bowl, then all of the rest of ingredients.
  • 2. Beat 12 FULL minutes. Be sure 12 FULL MINUTES.
  • 3. Grease and flour your TUBE PAN,or BUNDT PAN
  • 4. Put in COLD OVEN ! Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325 degrees. Bake for 55 more minutes.
  • 5. Empty cake onto your favorite Cake Plate. Enjoy !

I'm not sure why this recipe is called 'cold oven pound cake'. I baked it in a preheated oven and it turned out fine.
