This is a secret family recipe so don't tell my mom I posted it. This recipe spans at least 3 generations of my family. I have no idea how old it is or who or where my grandmother got the recipe from. I do know that the recipe that my mom wrote out for me calls for butter or "oleo" and my grandmother always said that she never...

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/2 c all purpose flour
2 Tbsp instant coffee crystals (i usually use folgers)
1 tsp salt
4 eggs
2 c granulated sugar
1 c melted butter or margarine
2 tsp vanilla
1 c chopped pecans

Steps:

  • 1. Sift together flour, coffee, and salt. Set aside.
  • 2. Beat eggs until foamy.
  • 3. Gradually add sugar to the eggs and continue beating until stiff.
  • 4. Stir in melted butter and vanilla.
  • 5. Add dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
  • 6. Stir in chopped pecans.
  • 7. Pour into two greased 8 inch square pans. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F) 30-35 minutes.
