Steps:
- Heat oven to 375F. Cream butter & sugars til light & fluffy. Beat in egg & vanilla. Stir flour w/b.soda, salt, spices. Add to creamed mixture, mix well. Stir in oats. Fold in chips & nuts. Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-9 mins for chewy cookie, 10-11 for crisp. Cool 1 min on sheet, remove to rack. Store in tightly covered container.
