1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, softened (no substitutes)
3/4 cup sugar (increase sugar slightly for a sweeter cookie)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract or 2 teaspoons maple extract
1 large egg
1 egg yolk
1 egg, beaten (used for an egg wash)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • Using a serrated knife slice diagonally into about 3/4-inch slices or a little smaller.

  • Sprinkle the top of the biscotti with cinnamon/sugar mixture.

These biscotti were a bit too dry for my taste, but they still had a nice flavor. I think I would use a little more butter next time.

I thought these biscotti were just okay. They were a bit too dry for my taste and the cinnamon sugar coating was a bit too sweet. I probably won't be making these again.

My biscotti turned out a little too dry, but they still had a nice flavor. I think I may have overbaked them slightly. Next time I'll try baking them for a few minutes less.

My first time making biscotti and it was a success! The cookies were delicious and the recipe was easy to follow. I used a mix of white and brown sugar for the coating, which gave them a nice caramelized flavor.
