Old-fashioned rolled oats make a hearty morning meal. If you prefer, use dates or raisins instead of or in addition to the dried apples. (This recipe is from the book "The Vegan Sourcebook".)

I'm a big fan of cinnamon, so I really enjoyed this oatmeal. The apples added a nice sweetness and the oats made it nice and filling. I'll definitely be making this again.

This oatmeal was a bit too sweet for my taste, but I think that's because I used too much brown sugar. Next time, I'll use less sugar and see how it turns out.

This oatmeal was a bit bland for my taste. I think it could have used some more spices or sweetener. I'll probably try adding some maple syrup next time.
