Cinnamon Anise Star Cookies image

I LOVE licorice, but my hubby NO! LOL! So I get to enjoy a lot of these myself (other than the ones that get sent to his work or a gift bag.) I don't mind. ;) Happy Holidays! (photo from taste of home)

I'm allergic to anise, so I substituted fennel seeds. The cookies still turned out great!

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my cookies didn't turn out as good as I hoped. They were a little too dense.

I've never been a big fan of anise, but I really enjoyed these cookies. The cinnamon and star anise flavors balanced each other out perfectly.
