I've been making this for years on Christmas Eve. I store them in a zip-lock and bake them on Christmas morning to serve with coffee and hot cocoa. We also munch on these all day after gifts and such.

Time 40m

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 lb jimmy dean's maple sausage
4 c cheddar cheese, shredded
4 c bisquick

Steps:

  • 1. combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Use your hands and mix it until the busquik & cheese are incorporated well into the sausage.
  • 2. Form balls. You can use a 1/2 oz scoop or your hands and make them as big or small as you like. My youngest loves doing this.
  • 3. Bake on a cookie sheet at 400 F. for about 17 mins until golden.

These sausage balls were a bit dry, but they were still tasty. I think I will add a little bit of milk or cream to the mixture next time.
