This cookie is a great treat anytime but will be a beautiful addition to your Christmas cookies. They bake soft and tender with chunks of cherries and nuts. The cookie itself is not overly sweet. Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together oil, eggs, milk, cherry juice, and vanilla or almond flavoring.
- 2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- 3. Add red food coloring to color desired. Then gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet.
- 4. Stir in chopped cherries and nuts. The dough will be very thick.
- 5. Form into balls.
- 6. Bake 10-12 minutes.
- 7. Frost with your favorite frosting or glaze when cookies are completely cooled. Add sprinkles if desired.
