CHOCOLATE WALNUT TOFFEE BARS image

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 cup Butter
1 cup packed Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Vanilla
2 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 cups chopped Walnuts (divided)
1 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips

Steps:

  • In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together butter and brown sugar; add egg and vanilla and mix well. Add flour and salt and mix until incorporated. By hand stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Spread evenly into lightly buttered 9x13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over top of bars and let stand for 5 minutes. Spread chocolate over cookie base. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup walnuts over chocolate and press firmly. Cool and cut into bars.
