Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Candy image

These do not last long in my house.....very addictive! Also, simple and goes wonderful on cookie trays for Christmas or other holiday trays. My friend Sara, from high school, would make these and bring them to share. I was the biggest pig and gobbled them all up.

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 5

2/3 c sugar
2/3 c light corn syrup
1 1/2 c creamy peanut butter
3 c crushed corn flakes
2 c semi sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. Crush cornflakes to equal 3 cups (about 2/3 of 12 oz box of cereal). Set aside. Grease 9 inch square pan lightly.
  • 2. Add sugar and corn syrup to medium sauce pan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
  • 3. Add peanut butter and stir.
  • 4. Add cereal to sugar & peanut butter mixture and mix well. Spread into greased pan.
  • 5. Melt chocolate chips in microwave on medium power stirring every minute until melted. Spread over cooled cereal mixture. Allow chocolate to set. Cut into small pieces and enjoy.I found it easier to wait until candy has cooled and take whole thing out of pan and cut with a large knife.
