Yield 10 servings

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 -- 9" pie crust, unbaked
Filling
3 eggs
1/4c + 2T corn syrup
1/4c + 2T Kahlua
3/4c granulated sugar
2T butter, melted
1t vanilla
1.5c pecan halves
1/2c or more to taste of Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In medium bowl, whisk together eggs, corn syrup, Kahlua, sugar, butter and vanilla. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips. Pour over unbaked crust. Bake in preheated 450 degree oven for 15 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 350 degree and bake 30 minutes longer until center is set. Note: you may need to cover loosely with foil to prevent the crust from browning too much as the pie bakes.

The crust on my pie was a little too thick. I think I'll try rolling it out thinner next time.

This pie is a little too sweet for my taste. I think I'll try using less sugar next time.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my pie turned out a little too runny. I think I might have added too much Kahlua.

I was a little hesitant to try this recipe because I'm not a big fan of Kahlua. But I'm so glad I did! The Kahlua flavor was subtle and it really complemented the chocolate and pecans. This pie was a huge hit with my family and friends.
