6 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
2 cups penne pasta
1 1/2 pounds asparagus, tough ends trimmed, cut into 1-inch pieces

Mix reserved cooking liquid into dressing. Add to salad; toss to blend. Season with salt and pepper. Chill at least 1 hour and up to 6 hours.

I'm allergic to poppy seeds, so I used sunflower seeds instead. They worked great!

I didn't have any smoked salmon on hand, so I used lox instead. It was still delicious.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my asparagus was tough. I think I might have cooked it for too long.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my salad turned out bland. I think I might have used too much olive oil.

I added a few extra tablespoons of lemon juice to the dressing. I like my salads a little tangy.

I'm not a fan of poppy seeds, so I omitted them from the recipe. The salad was still delicious without them.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover smoked salmon. I had a few slices left over from a bagel brunch, and they were perfect in this salad.

I'm always looking for new ways to use asparagus, and this recipe definitely delivered. The asparagus was cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch to it. The smoked salmon added a delicious smoky flavor, and the poppy seeds added a nice nutty crunch.

This chilled penne salad was a hit at my last dinner party! The combination of asparagus, smoked salmon, and poppy seeds was unique and flavorful. I especially liked the addition of lemon zest and juice, which really brightened up the dish.
