Time 1h10m

Yield 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 cup balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
4 pieces chicken (any combination of breast or leg-and-thigh pieces)
salt & freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • FOR THE BALSAMIC BBQ SAUCE:.
  • Combine all the ingredients in a small saucepan and stir until all the ingredients are incorporated and the mixture is smooth.
  • Simmer over medium heat until reduced by 1/3, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • FOR THE CHICKEN:.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the chicken pieces.
  • Lightly coat both sides with some of the BBQ sauce using a pastry brush.
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Place the remaining BBQ sauce, still in the small saucepan, over low heat, and allow to gently simmer while the meat cooks.
  • Place the chicken skin side up in a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and spoon the BBQ sauce all over the top of the chicken without turning the chicken.
  • Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for another 15 minutes.
  • NOTE: This sauce can also be used on ribs.

I'm disappointed with this recipe. The chicken was dry and tough, and the sauce was bland.

The sauce was a bit too thick. I would recommend adding a bit of water to thin it out.

I'm not a fan of the balsamic vinegar in this recipe. I think it overpowers the chicken.

This recipe is a bit time-consuming, but it's worth it. The chicken is so tender and flavorful, and the sauce is to die for.

I've tried a lot of different balsamic BBQ sauce recipes, but this one is by far the best. It's the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and smoky.

This recipe is a great way to use up leftover chicken. I had some grilled chicken that I needed to use up, and this recipe was the perfect way to do it.

I'm not a big fan of balsamic vinegar, but I decided to give this recipe a try anyway. I'm glad I did because the sauce was actually really good! It had a nice tangy flavor that wasn't too overpowering.

I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts for this recipe, and they cooked through in about 20 minutes. The sauce was a little thick for my taste, so I added a bit of water to thin it out.
