Charro Beans image

I love the charro beans at Uncle Julio's restaurant in Texas. This seems to be a similar recipe. They don't have chili powder or cumin but are well seasoned and seem very fresh and light.

Overall, this was a good recipe. I would make it again, but I would make a few changes.

These beans were a bit too salty for me. I think I'll reduce the amount of salt next time.

I found this recipe to be a bit too spicy for my taste. Next time I'll use less chili powder.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my beans turned out bland. Maybe I didn't add enough spices.

I made a few substitutions (used ground turkey instead of bacon and added some chopped bell pepper) and it was still delicious.

I'm not a huge fan of beans, but these were really good. The bacon and spices gave them a great flavor.
