Pioneer woman's recipe. I added a little salt and divided recipe in half for 2 big servings or 4 small servings. Quick and easy. Hubby loves this little dessert topping. Enjoy!

Steps:
- 1. In skillet, saute' apples over medium high heat, using 1 tablespoon of butter. Cook until apples are tender, but still firm.
- 2. Remove apples from pan and set aside.
- 3. Over medium heat, add 1/2 stick of butter and heavy cream. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- 4. Add heavy cream and dash of salt. Stir and let sauce thicken a bit (about 1-2 minutes).
- 5. Turn heat to low. Add apple pieces back in to mixture. Add cinnamon. Stir and let thicken a little more (about 1-2 minutes again).
- 6. Place ice cream in serving bowls and spoon apple mixture on top. Add vanilla cookie crumbles or crumbled lady finger cookies, or other fancy cookies on side.
