Sliced apples bake into the top of this rich, tempting cake. It's easy and fun because the caramel sauce forms while it bakes. For more fiber and color, leave the peel on the apples. To make yummy Caramel Pear Dessert Squares, substitute 2 cups sliced peeled pears for the apples. Enjoy!

This dessert was a bit too tart for my liking, but I think that's just because I used Granny Smith apples. I'll try using a sweeter variety next time.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my dessert turned out really dry. I think I might have overcooked the apples.

This dessert was a little too sweet for my taste, but I think I would like it better with a less sweet caramel sauce.
