California Tamale Pie image

Number Of Ingredients 11

3/4 lb ground beef
2.5 c milk
1 c yellow cornmeal
2 eggs, beaten
1 pkg chili seasoning
1 tsp garlic salt
14.5 oz tomatoes, chopped
8 oz corn, drained
2.25 oz olives, sliced and drained
1.5 c shredded cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp yellow cornmeal

Steps:

  • 1. In medium skillet, brown ground beef; drain.
  • 2. In medium bowl, combine milk, 1 cup cornmeal and eggs; blend well.
  • 3. Add ground beef and remaining ingredients except cheese and 2 tablespoons cornmeal; stir to mix.
  • 4. Pour into 12x8\" lightly greased baking dish.
  • 5. Bake in 350 oven 35-40 minutes.
  • 6. Sprinkle with cheese and 2 tablespoons cornmeal; continue baking until cheese melts.
  • 7. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
