CAJUN SAUSAGE AND RICE image

this is an old family recipe-one my grandma fixed for years. in my busy world, as most others experience, i love to cook but many times i need something quick and easy!!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 c long grain rice, uncooked
8 oz sliced smoked sausage
1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 c chopped green pepper
16 oz can(s) stewed tomatoes
10 3/4 oz chicken broth
2 c water
1 tsp sage
1 tsp hot sauce
salt & pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. in large skillet combine all ingredients. bring to a boil-cover-reduce heat & simmer for 20 minutes. remove lid & simmer for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
