Butterscotch Shortbread Cookies by Susan image

We baked three different kinds of shortbread cookies for Christmas this year. Plain shortbread, Lavender shortbread, and these - butterscotch. I couldn't tell you which was my favorite, but I can tell you they were all enjoyed by everyone! This recipe is my adaptation of a traditional Scots Shortbread.

I found these cookies to be a bit bland. They needed more flavor.

These cookies are a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I'll reduce the amount of sugar next time.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my cookies didn't turn out as expected. They were too dry and crumbly.

These cookies are a bit crumbly, but that's what I like about them. They're perfect for dunking in milk.
