Sweet and Savory! My Mother-in-Law's recipe. So glad I found this in my recipe box! She made it every year during the winter holidays!

Provided by Karen Rees

Categories     Candies

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 pkg butterscotch chips
2 c chow mein noodles
1 c salted shelled peanuts

Steps:

  • 1. Melt packages of butterscotch morsels. Either over a double boiler or in the microwave. If in the microwave, stir often to be certain not to burn
  • 2. Once melted, stir in the remaining ingredients
  • 3. Scoop a spoonful of mixture onto wax paper...repeat until gone. Let cool
  • 4. Wrap in tins with wax paper in-between each layer!
  • 5. Enjoy!

I love the way these crunchies taste, but they're a little too messy to eat. I think I'll try making them in a smaller size next time.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my crunchies turned out really dry. I think I might have overbaked them.

These crunchies are a bit too hard for my taste. I think I'll try making them again and baking them for a shorter amount of time.
