Bourbon Steak Portobellos image

I love this grilled steak and mushroom dish because it's easy and oh so pretty on the plate. If you like a little spice, add fresh jalapeno pepper to the peppers. -Kathy Vanderburg, Niceville, Florida

I didn't have any portobellos, so I used cremini mushrooms instead. They turned out great!

The steak was a bit overcooked for my taste, but the portobellos were delicious.

I'm not a big fan of bourbon, so I used whiskey instead. The steak still turned out great.

I don't have a grill, so I cooked the steak and portobellos in a cast iron skillet. They turned out just as good as if I had grilled them.

I substituted chicken broth for the beef broth and it turned out great! The chicken broth added a nice light flavor to the dish.

I've tried many steak and portobello recipes over the years, but this one is by far the best. The bourbon marinade really makes a difference in the flavor of the steak.
