This is great for a New Years Eve gathering or any cold winter night. It's excellent served with cornbread. Works best when prepared the night before, and then reheated the next day.

I followed the recipe exactly and the chowder turned out watery. I think I would have preferred to add less liquid.

This chowder is a bit bland for my taste. I think I would have preferred to add more spices.

I'm not a fan of ham hocks, so I used smoked sausage instead. It turned out great! The chowder was still very flavorful and smoky.

This chowder is a great way to use up leftover ham. It's also a very affordable meal to make. I often make a double batch and freeze half of it for later.

I'm not a big fan of black-eyed peas, but I decided to try this recipe anyway. I was pleasantly surprised! The chowder was creamy and flavorful, and the black-eyed peas added a nice texture. I will definitely be making this again.

This chowder was a bit too smoky for my taste. I think I would have preferred to use a smoked sausage instead of a ham hock. Otherwise, the recipe was easy to follow and the chowder was hearty and flavorful.

This black-eyed pea chowder was a delightful surprise! The combination of flavors and textures was perfect, and the smokiness from the ham hock added a rich depth of flavor. I served it with a side of crusty bread to soak up all the delicious broth.
