Time 15m

Yield 12 Donuts, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

15 ounces black beans
2 tablespoons almond milk
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2-2/3 cup granulated artificial artificial sweetener or 1/2-2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup oat flour
1 egg
3 tablespoons applesauce
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Blend all donut ingredients together in a food processor or blender.
  • Transfer batter to donut pans sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake at 350 Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes (until a toothpick comes out clean).
  • While they bake, prepare your glaze by mixing ingredients together and adjusting consistency adding milk to thin out and powdered sugar to thicken.
  • Immediately remove from the pan (when it's a safe temperature to touch) and dip into a bowl of the glaze. Transfer to a baking rack and allow the donut to cool and glaze to harden.
  • Enjoy!

These donuts were a bit too greasy for my taste, but the flavor was good. I think I would try baking them next time instead of frying them.

I made these donuts in a donut pan and they turned out perfectly. The donuts were cooked evenly and the frosting was smooth and creamy.

I added some chopped walnuts to the batter and they gave the donuts a nice, crunchy texture. I also used a maple glaze instead of a chocolate frosting and it was delicious.
