Timeless baked beans are still favorites at picnics and casual gatherings, just like they were back in the '50s. For my theme party, I jazzed up canned pork and beans with bacon, green pepper and barbecue sauce. It's a simple recipe with down-home taste. -Judy Nix, Toccoa, Georgia

Inoshi Priyadarshani
priyadarshani.inoshi@hotmail.frThese baked beans are good, but they could be better. The sauce is a bit bland and the beans are a little dry. I think I'll try adding some extra spices and maybe some chopped onion next time.

j.jano46@gmail.comI was really excited to try this recipe, but I was disappointed with the results. The sauce was too sweet for my taste and the beans were a bit mushy. I think I'll stick to my old baked bean recipe.
