This rich, creamy torte has always been one of my favorite autumn desserts. Mom uses the freshest apples from a local orchard and bakes this treat until the apples are crisp-tender. It tastes as good as it looks. -Alyson Armstrong, Parkersburg, West Virginia

I'm not a big fan of apple desserts, but this torte was a pleasant surprise. It's not too sweet and the crust is really flaky.

I've tried this recipe with different types of apples and they all work well. I especially like using Granny Smith apples because they hold their shape well in the torte.

I've tried many apple torte recipes but this one is by far the best. The crust is so buttery and flaky and the filling is just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend this recipe!
