Banana Walnut Brownies image

Chocolate brownies with chopped walnuts and sliced banana. If you have the munchies like me, spread creamy peanut butter on top of cooked brownie!

1 teaspoon shortening, or as needed
2 cups white sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup baking cocoa
½ cup melted butter
½ cup chopped walnuts
¼ cup dark cocoa
2 eggs
2 tablespoons water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
1 ripe banana, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x12-inch baking pan with shortening.
  • Mix sugar, flour, baking cocoa, butter, walnuts, dark cocoa, eggs, water, vanilla extract, and salt together in a bowl until batter is smooth. Pour the mixture into the baking pan; top with bananas.
  • Bake in preheated oven until top is dry and edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 30 minutes.
