I'm allergic to bananas, so I substituted mashed avocado in this recipe. It turned out great! The avocado added a creamy texture and a mild flavor that complemented the poi perfectly.

I'm not a huge fan of poi, but this recipe was actually pretty good. The banana flavor really helped to mellow out the poi. I might make it again sometime.

I had some trouble finding taro leaves, so I used spinach instead. The poi still turned out great, but it was a little less creamy than I expected.

The poi was a little too sweet for my taste, but it was still good. I think I'll try using less sugar next time.
