Another favorite from Jeff Smith, The Frugal Gourmet. We've made this often. In his cookbook - Jeff Smiths says this recipe was brought back by Thomas Jefferson after visiting Italy.

This recipe was a disaster! The polenta was lumpy and the cheese topping was burnt. I don't know what I did wrong.

I've made this recipe several times now and it's always a hit! It's so easy to make and always turns out perfectly. I love serving it with a variety of toppings, like sautéed mushrooms, roasted vegetables, or a simple tomato sauce.

This recipe was a bit too complicated for me. I think I'll try a simpler polenta recipe next time.

The polenta was a bit too dry for my liking. Maybe I should have added more liquid. But the flavor was good.

This recipe was a bit bland for my taste. I think I should have added more salt and pepper. Otherwise, it was a good starting point.
