Yield 6

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cups water
1 pound fresh green beans
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1/3 cup red onion (chopped)
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon onion salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
Pepper, to taste
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
6 bacon strips (cooked and crumbled)

Steps:

  • In a large skillet or pot, bring water to a boil and add the green beans.
  • Let the beans boil for about 3 minutes, then cover with a lid for about 5 minutes and reduce heat to low, allowing the beans to steam and soften.
  • Drain the beans and add the olive oil, red onion, lemon juice and minced garlic.
  • Change the heat to medium, and saute the beans, garlic, and onions until they begin to go a little clearer.
  • Add the onion salt, garlic salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, and bacon until everything is heated through and well incorporated.

I made this dish in my slow cooker and it turned out great! I just threw all the ingredients in the slow cooker and cooked it on low for 8 hours.

I'm allergic to bacon, so I used turkey bacon instead. It was still delicious!

This dish was a little bland for my taste. I added some garlic and onion powder to give it more flavor.

I followed the recipe exactly and the beans were still undercooked. I had to cook them for an extra 30 minutes.

I'm not a big fan of beans, but this dish was surprisingly good. The bacon and Parmesan cheese really made a difference.

I made this dish last night and it was so easy to make! I didn't have any Parmesan cheese on hand, so I used cheddar cheese instead. It was still delicious.

This dish was a hit with my family! The bacon and Parmesan cheese added a delicious flavor to the beans, and the beans themselves were cooked perfectly. I will definitely be making this again.
