This cake was a big hit in our house. Even my sons who wrinkled their noses up when I told them what I was making, went back for seconds! This is an excellent dessert to welcome in fall.

Steps:
- 1. Sift flour, baking soda and salt, nutmeg and cinnamon and set aside.
- 2. Beat together the oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla for 3 or 4 minutes.
- 3. Gradually add in flour mixture to the egg mixture.
- 4. Stir in the chopped apples and nuts.
- 5. Pour into a bundt pan.
- 6. Bake the apple cake for 1 hour and 15-20 minutes at 325 degrees.
- 7. Meanwhile for topping: Melt the butter and brown sugar in a pan over low heat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes.
- 8. Remove from the stove. Spoon over the warm cake. Enjoy!
