Aunt Evelyn's Broccoli Casserole image

Many years ago, someone in the family collected recipes from descendants of my great grandparents, William M. and Florence E. (Snodgrass) Whaley and had them compiled into a cookbook. I am posting those recipes here so that they will not be lost. This recipe was submitted by my Aunt Evelyn.

I'm a vegetarian, so I used tofu instead of chicken in this casserole. It was delicious!

I'm allergic to cheese, so I made this casserole without it. It was still really good!

This casserole was a little too bland for my taste. I added some extra salt and pepper and it was much better.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my casserole turned out watery. Maybe I didn't cook the broccoli long enough?
