I get more requests for this appetizer than any other. The recipe was given to me years ago from a friend. I hope you enjoy.

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 round loaf of sour dough bread
2 cups of shredded asiago cheese
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
2 cups of mayonaise
1/2 cup of sour cream
2 slices of bacon
2 green onions
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
a pinch of salt & pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 375
  • 2. Cook bacon until crisp, crumble and set aside
  • 3. Prepare the bread by slicing off the top part of the loaf and using a knife carefully cut a circle inside the loaf about 1/2 and inch from the side ( be careful not to cut to deep, as this loaf will be your serving bowl). Cut the top and the piece you removed from the inside of the loaf into bite size pieces and place on a baking sheet along with the bread bowl. Toast in the oven for about 15 minutes.
  • 4. Mix together in a large glass bowl Cheeses, Mayo, Sour cream, Green onion, Garlic, Bacon and S&P. Microwave on high for 4-6 minutes stirring after each minute until hot and all the cheese has melted. Pur into the warm bread bowl and serve with the toasted bread. When the dip is gone tear the bread bowl into pieces and enjoy......

I would give this Asiago dip a 3 out of 5 stars. It was easy to make and it tasted okay, but it wasn't anything special.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my Asiago dip turned out lumpy. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

This Asiago dip was a disappointment. It was bland and flavorless. I won't be making it again.

This Asiago dip was a bit too cheesy for my taste. I think I would have liked it better if I had used less cheese.
