Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (1 pound) cinnamon raisin bread, cubed
1 package (8 ounce) cream cheese (e.g. Philadelphia), diced
1 cup apples, peeled and diced
1 recipe - 8 eggs
2 1/2 cups half-and-half cream
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1/4 cup maple syrup

Steps:

  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Arrange 1/2 of the cubed raisin bread in the bottom of the dish. Sprinkle the cream cheese evenly over the bread, and top with the apples. If you like extra raisins, add them now. Top with remaining bread.
  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the cream, butter, and maple syrup. Pour over the bread mixture. Cover with plastic wrap, and press down so that all bread pieces are soaked. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

This is the worst recipe I've ever tried. It was a waste of time and ingredients.

This was a complete disaster. The bread was soggy and the apples were mushy. I will not be making this again.

This was a bit too eggy for my taste. I think I'll use less eggs next time.

I found this recipe to be a bit bland. I added some extra spices and it was much better.

This was a bit too sweet for my taste. I think I'll cut back on the sugar next time.

I'm not a big fan of raisins, so I omitted them from the recipe. It was still delicious!

This French toast strata was a hit with my family! The bread was perfectly golden and crispy on the outside, and the inside was soft and fluffy. The apples and raisins added a delicious sweetness and crunch. I will definitely be making this again!
