Yummy - this apple pie recipe is perfect! With just the right mix of apples and pecans, you get a bit of crunch in every bite. The generous portion of brown sugar caramelizes while baking which adds to the wonderful flavor.

6 c cored, sliced granny smith apples
1-1/2 c pecan halves
1-1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

Cover with 2nd pie crust folding over sides and crimping together. (Don't worry how this looks as it is the bottom of your pie.) Poke holes at random with fork for release of steam.

  • 5. Remove from oven. Let cool until bubbling stops. IMPORTANT: Flip pie pecan side up, and serve hot. The pecans should be very shiny. Serve with ice cream.

This pie was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was still good. The crust was flaky and the filling was thick and gooey. I would recommend using a tart apple, like a Granny Smith, to balance out the sweetness of the pecans.

This pie was easy to make and turned out great! The crust was flaky and the filling was delicious. I used a mix of Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples, and the tartness of the Granny Smiths balanced out the sweetness of the Honeycrisps perfectly.
