Steps:
- In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add the vanilla or other extract. Sift the dry ingredients together. In three additions, alternately, add the buttermilk and the dry ingredients, scraping after each addition. Add any fruit if desired. Place into 12 - 15 muffin tins and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until the center of the muffin bounces back.
