- 1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
- 2. Cream sugar and butter or margarine together until fluffy; add eggs and beat until light.
- 3. Sift together all dry ingredients, then add them alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture, beating well after each addition; mix in the vanilla.
- 4. Pour batter into a greased 9 X 13-inch baking pan (I used nonstick cooking spray); bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
