American Chop Suey (Pasta Shells With Meat) image

I got this from my local paper. Although it's called American Chop Suey it's nothing Asian!! It sounded so good that i had to add it hey but i haven't made it yet, so tell me what it's like! i don't eat bacon or beef and I'm allergic to peppers so i just omitted and changed some stuff.

4 slices bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces (i omitted)
2 garlic cloves, minced

I didn't have any pasta shells on hand, so I used penne instead. It worked out just fine.

The recipe was easy to follow, but it was a little bland for my taste. I added some extra spices to give it more flavor.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my sauce didn't turn out as thick as I would have liked. I think I'll add a little cornstarch next time.
