Alsatian Breakfast Sausage Casserole image

Gruyere is a Swiss cheese with complex flavors that are creamy, and nutty. It goes very nicely with the sweet but tart flavor of honeycrisp apples (which are my very favorite apple!)Source: Unknown

I'm not a fan of sauerkraut, so I was hesitant to try this casserole. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. The sauerkraut added a nice tanginess to the casserole and it wasn't overpowering.
